I'm a barbie girl

Just got bunch of tiny nail art rhinestones! I have wanted to do a mani like this for quite a while.

cutesvilles 100th!!

100 posts! That means, with the exception of the time I was on vacation, I have had different nails every day since the end of June.
I've been a bit heavy on the bows lately but I can't help it - I love painting them! I did use some rhinestones for the first time though, so I switched it up a bit ;)

cutesville camo

I got these adorable camo pants at J Crew the other day and I wanted to do a cute camo design to go with them. This, believe it or not, ended up taking about 5 hours to do! I just couldn't get the look I was going for and started over from scratch twice :(
I finally decided to focus more on the cute and less on the camo ;)

polka party!

I used all acrylic paint again and it is so fun to work with :) I did run into a problem yesterday because I used a different brand as a base coat on my right hand. Half way through the day the paint actually started to peel off - I think its because the other brand was more of a craft paint.

"P" is for.....

Pink poodles and purple polka dots!!! There was going to be some plaid and paisley in there too but it was just getting ridiculous.

pop art pink

I hand painted all of the designs in this mani for the first time :) I couldn't get a dark enough gray with the stamp so I took a whack at it myself.

like a coogi sweater, but for your nails!

I am really into this woman from Germany's blog right now. Her name is Susa and her blog is http://supanails.tumblr.com/. She is super talented and her designs are ridiculously dope...

almost as dope as Biggie.

Sugar Skull

This mani took kind of a long time - although most of it was probably spent looking at images online. I have sugar skulls on the back of my legs but they're kind of hard see ; )

a little Lichtenstein

I'm really enjoying hand painting my nails right now (instead of just stamping). I seem to spend a good hour looking through art online before I decide what to do. I like how well Lichtensteins style translates to nail art.

bears.

So I'm not real big on bears or hearts but I had an overwhelming desire to do something over-the-top cute. Achievement unlocked.

  • base coat - Jordana - French Manicure White
  • design - Confetti - Dance Party Pink and Moonstruck

dotted

This is the 3rd mani I've done for this leopard print dress I have. The other two were leopard but I wanted to try something different. Its pretty simple and I'm not sure if I like it all that much but it's late and I'm not doing it over ;)

  • base coat - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Wet Cement
  • design - Sinful Colors - Hazard, Konad Special Polish - Black Pearl

just a cute little owl

I got a new dotting tool from Sephora and it is fantastic :) I used it for the owls and it was super easy!

  • base coat - OPI - Stranger Tides and Mabelline Express Finish - Charcoal Cheer
  • design - Sally Hansen - Lightning, Art Deco - Intense Pink, Kiss Nail Art Paint - White

last weeks nails

So last week was the Ann Arbor Art Fair and I worked ridiculously long hours in unbelievable heat. I didn't have time to blog all of my nails, but I did manage to keep them cute throughout the whole ordeal! I can't remember all of the different polishes I used but I don't really own anything you can't but at the drug store. There were one or two franken-colors when I couldn't find the right shade but most are pretty standard.
day 1.
day 2.
day 3.
day 4.
day 5.

and today's nails.

Hopefully I'll get back on track tonight (if this storm doesn't knock out the power!)

bows 2.0

I recieved some new image plates from Konad today and I love how much bigger the designs are! Bundle Monster doesn't quite cover my nail and lining them up has not worked out too well so far.
I used image plates M79 and M59 with OPI Russian Navy Suede, Konad white stamping polish, and Cover Girl Continuous Color in Preppy Pink.
